Capital U. one of few schools open in Central Ohio during -7 degree weather

As the northeast waited for the predicted snow storm and drop in temperature Sunday evening, one by one, schools across Ohio canceled class for Monday and Tuesday.

With Ohio State, Otterbein, Bexley, and Columbus City Schools closed by late Sunday night, Capital students surely expected all classes to be canceled by the time they awoke for class Monday morning. Unfortunately, they were wrong. Instead of waking up to a campus cancellation, students woke up to countless pissed-off tweets and Facebook posts complaining and wondering why we were the only students in Columbus walking to class in negative 20 degree wind chills…

…until 10 a.m. when a Cap Alert was sent out closing campus after 1 p.m. Students and staff breathed a sigh of relief, at least those who didn’t have an 8 a.m. class. As local schools continue to announce closings for tomorrow, Capital students are relieved to receive the Cap Alert this time.

Did commuters have a safe trip to campus this morning?
