Homecoming court chosen to represent campus diversity

The homecoming court for 2017 consists of Brian Lanier, Bethany Luck, Jason Fugate, Jazzlyn Briscoe, Rachel Benway, Cody Tudor, Madison Hamernik, Naima Ilmi, Austin Reid and Kristopher Lee.

This year, a committee was put together to choose these select individuals. The process was lengthy with a nomination, a written application, and an interview.

“I would like to do [the selection process] a little earlier,” Christa Serluco, head of the committee, said.

It was difficult for the committee to narrow it down with so many great students, but she feels that the overall outcome is good. The committee received 72 applications, which they had to filter down to 22 for the interview and ultimately turned into the 10-person court.
