Fresh ‘fits for staying warm and looking good this winter

Winter can be a difficult season for a lot of reasons: driving in the snow, going back to school, finding motivation to leave your house, and worst of all, finding something to wear. Although it can be difficult, quite a few Capital students have been rocking fresh fits this snowy season, despite the frigid temperatures.

Becky Horgan, sophomore, has a red aesthetic going on. “I literally got this entire outfit at Kohl’s,” she said. From her flowing floral cardigan to her marbled rhombus necklace to her maroon boots, Horgan truly does look like a beautiful model from a Kohl’s ad. The dark wintry shade of her lipstick is courtesy of Jeffree Star Cosmetics.

Caleb Curry, student, is primarily neutral with a pop of light pink underneath the layers with a simple t-shirt from H&M. “I got this light-wash button down jean jacket from Pac Sun,” Curry said. Pairing white tube socks with his high-top Chuck Taylor’s was a smart winter move on his part — the higher the shoe, the better protection against the snow.

Emily Dunaj, junior, got her boots and pants from Target. “The shirt I believe is from Old Navy,” she said, “which is like my number one store.” Her cardigan came from Forever 21, along with comfy fuzzy socks and a scarf from Kohl’s. Dunaj tied the look together with Too Faced Matte Liquid Lipstick in a dark red color.

Jeron Gaskins, junior, is serving up the winter looks. Most articles of his outfit came from ASOS. “Amazon,” was all he said regarding the gold chain that accented the look. Gaskins used simplicity to draw looks and stay warm this season.

Faith Fullen, first-year, seemed to have articles of clothing from multiple stores. Her boots came from Designer Shoe Warehouse, her pants from Old Navy and her shirt from Gap. Fullen’s sweater, multi-colored scarf, and headband are all from Target. She seemed happy with the warmth that her outfit provided. “I’m sweating right now,” she said.

Jared Cox, sophomore, rocked a shirt that he’s had since high school from Forever 21. Matched with the navy blue coat and neutral pants, Cox is using neutrals to his advantage. “The coat keeps me warm,” he said, along with the hat that completes the look. His Warby Parker glasses added a sense of sophistication to the look.
