Boomhouse founders Brandon MacLean, Zack Newkirk, Parker Muntz, and Patrick Hearn have kept busy.

The label is looking forward to two shows in February. The first is slated for Feb. 21 at 8p.m., when Boomhouse is hosting a show at Capital in the Mezzanine featuring Bobby Delarocco, The Blight, and DJ Enigma.

A mere three days later they are holding a show at Victory’s on High St. All the Boomhouse bands are playing, including Forest and the Evergreens, Alaska Awake, Apples and Baskets, and The Blight. Each of these four bands have at least one of the Boomhouse founders in them. The show starts at 9 p.m. and is free. Boomhouse will release t-shirts for that show, as well as CD compilations to increase awareness in the area.

MacLean is excited about the future of Boomhouse Records. “It has been a crazy ride lately. There are so many things that go into starting and running a business, especially something as dynamic as a record label. It has really been an eye opener, but in the best way,” MacLean said.

Along with the four owners, Boomhouse has a management team to help them with the task of creating a successful record label.

“We’ve been meeting a lot of great people in the Columbus creative scene that will really be helping us root ourselves in the community in the future. Also, Forest and the Evergreens are leaving for their first tour this week so that’s exciting,” MacLean said.

Along with the shows this month, Boomhouse has big plans for the future.

“All the bands are scheduled to have albums dropping within the next 2 to 3 months. We will be booking many more out-of-town shows. We will be supporting everything local from where you buy your music, to where you eat your food. We just want to get our bands and way of thinking out to the public,” MacLean said. “We’re working together to bring some color and sound out of this Midwest city.”
