This annual event is only open to students and alumni of their member institutions, making it an ideal place for Capital students to find a job.
Career Development works with OFIC to get students internships or jobs with the businesses searching at CareerFest.
Jan Rich, the assistant director of Career Development, has worked on coordinating Capital’s student registration for eight years.
“Capital is one of 34 Ohio private colleges to participate, and it’s been happening for about 15 years,” Rich said.
“Capital sends an average of 75 students each year, with a total of about 1000 coming from all over the state.”
“This year, there are 115 employers registered to attend, mostly looking for entry level candidates for full time jobs, but several each year are looking for interns as well.”
Aerotek, 21st Century Financia, AT&T, Cengage Learning, Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, Gap Inc., JP Morgan, Medical Mutual, Nationwide Children’s Hospital, and the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency are just a few of the big name companies looking for workers.
If you wish to attend this year, CareerFest 2013 will be located at Aladdin Shrine Center. Rich suggests students have their resumes reviewed by Career Development before attending.
