In another nail-biter at the Cap Center, the women’s basketball team lost a heartbreaker to Marietta.
The game was close throughout, and it took a Marietta three pointer with 11 seconds on the clock to give the Pioneers a 54-53 victory.
It was senior night for the Crusaders, who honored guard Rebekah Will and forward Stacy Timmerman, the only two seniors on the squad.
Timmerman made the most of her senior night by surpassing 1,000 career points, a mark that only 18 other players in the program’s history have reached.
She finished the game with 20 points and added eight rebounds, leading the team in both categories.
Will chipped in with four points and two assists on the night.
The loss brought the Crusaders to a 8-7 record in the OAC to go with their 13-9 overall record.
They will look to rebound in their next match at rivals Otterbein, and will play out their remaining three games of the season on the road, following the Otterbein game with trips to Muskingum and Ohio Northern before beginning the conference tournament.
