Last night, hundreds of students crowded Schneider North to make their own stuffed animal. In minutes, the event hosted by Activity Management and Programming (AMP) brought out a line of students both frustrated and excited to stuff an animal of their choosing: Dalmatians, golden retrievers, calico cats, polar bears, black bears, teddy bears, frogs, pigs, elephants, bunnies, moose, penguins, and lions.

“I think what makes it so successful is that it’s something people anticipate every year…it’s comforting for some to have a stuffed animal on hard days,” said TJ Carpenter, AMP’s co-director of special events.

In addition to this event, AMP will be putting on Sibs and Kids Weekend this weekend filled with activities for students who would like to bring their siblings or children on campus.

Away from this week’s events, AMP plans to program a casino night, Mardi Gras night, and a Beat Otterbein Rally later this semester.

AMP’s adviser and the university programming coordinator, Christa Serluco, said that the new executive board is interested in planning more weekend programming instead of holding the traditional “Wicked Wednesday” events.

Later this month, the executive board will be traveling to Louisville, Kentucky to attend the National Association for Campus Activities (NACA) National Convention.
