Students can now use their CapBucks to buy meals at C’est Si Bon, Jimmy John’s, and Zoe’s Cafe, thanks to an initiative started by Student Government last year.
“Our goal is to have five different choices for students by the end of the year,” Mike Horan, vice president of business and finance, said.
This goal is close to being met, as Moshi Sushi should be available for CapBucks usage by the end of the week.
With a slot open to reach this quota, students have voiced their opinions on which Main Street restaurants they hope to see participate in the CapBucks program.
“Definitely Piada,” junior English major Taylor Wall said. “I know a lot of people that go there to get food instead of eating in the MDR, so it would make sense.”
Other popular choices include Starbucks, Chipotle, and Bruegger’s.
Paying with CapBucks is just as easy as paying with a credit or debit card. Students simply need to let the employee assisting them at whichever restaurant they visit know in advance that they will be paying with their CapBucks. This is mostly necessary if students wish to tip on their check.
While the initial startup of this program was slow, it’s now in full-swing and usable for all students who have CapBucks in their student account.
