Everything to know about ‘Bridgerton’ Season 4 so far

Netflix confirmed through their X, formerly known as Twitter, account on Sept. 16, 2024 that a fourth season of “Bridgerton” is officially in production.

The previous three seasons spotlighted other couples with incredible chemistry: Season 1, with Daphne Bridgerton and Simon Basset; Season 2, with Anthony Bridgerton and Kate Sharma; and Season 3, with Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington.

Season 3 followed the love story of Colin and Penelope, building the anticipation for the new season, which is predicted to premiere sometime in 2026.

The main leads of Season 4 include Yerin Ha, who is a new face among the cast and will play Sophie Baek, and Luke Thompson, who was already part of the main cast of the series thus far and is now getting his own chance at romance through his character, Benedict Bridgerton.

In a recent interview with Netflix, Thompson said the storyline will be similar to that of Cinderella. Sophie Baek is a “resourceful maid” who captures Benedict’s attention and is referred to as the mysterious “Lady in Silver.”

“You remember being told those stories as a child — the magic and the romance of them,” said Thompson. “It’s really exciting to have that weaved into the world that we know of Bridgerton[.]”

Ha described playing her character alongside her co-star as “playful, freeing, and therapeutic.” She said she felt as though she did not need to worry about stressing over little things and to just “focus on the on-screen connection with [Thompson].”

Other characters to look out for are Lady Araminta Gun, played by Katie Leung, who is most recognized for her work in the “Harry Potter” movies as Cho Chang; Rosamund Li, played by Michelle Bao, who is known for her role in “Goosebumps” (2023); and Posy Li, played by Isabella Wei, who is known for playing in the Netflix series “1899” (2022).

In an interview with E! News, Luke Newton, the main lead of the third season as Colin Bridgerton, said Season 4 is different compared to the prior seasons. He also said to expect to see the domestic married life of Colin and Penelope with their newborn child.

“We’ve seen all the twists and turns to the drama of their relationship last season,” said Newton. “You don’t often see it on screen of just two people living happily ever after—and just that being what it [is].”

Nicola Coughlan, the co-star of Newton who plays Penelope Bridgerton, said it is nice to step back and have Ha and Thompson lead the show this season.

“It’s gonna be amazing,” said Coughlan. “Luke and Yerin are hard at work now. It’s nice to take a step back and let them do it all.”

Netflix released a short sneak peak of the season on Feb. 14, 2025 on Youtube as a Valentine’s Day gift alongside behind-the-scenes pictures of the cast in their respective character’s costume. To stay updated, students can check out their Instagram and X accounts for more information.
