Tell us what you want

It’s been an interesting year at the helm of The Chimes. From switching the layout to covering Mitt Romney, it certainly hasn’t been a boring year.

As the semester draws to a close, we’re looking for ways to continue to improve your newspaper.

Now that our website has a stable home at www.cuchimes.com, we’ll be putting more of a focus on the web in the next year.

We’re also hoping to have a stronger presence on social networks such as Twitter and Facebook.

What we need most, however, is help from you, our readers. We want to know what you want to see from us. In past years, it’s been nearly impossible to publish all of the letters to the editor or opinion pieces. This year, we’ve received next to none.

There have been years when we’ve had comments overflowing on the website and polls with plenty of people voting, and this year we’ve had almost none.

Hopefully this means that you are all entirely content with the paper, but in all likelihood, it just means that you’re not speaking up.

So by all means, let us know what you think. Are you pissed off by something that’s happening on campus? Write us a letter. Is there something happening that we’re missing coverage on? Let us know.

This paper isn’t just about our staff having a place to spew their opinions. We want you to read, and we want you to care. So please don’t hesitate to tell us when we’re not giving you what you want. We’d love to hear from you.
