Computer Science Department to begin search for new professor

The Computer Science Department has received approval to begin a search for a new professor.

For students involved with the computer science program, many have noticed the absence of Professor Joseph Kendall-Morwick.

Kendall-Morwick left Capital over the summer in search of a similar job in Kansas.

Capital will be sending out advertisements for the opening of the position in late September.

David Reed, a professor of mathematics, computer science, and physics, has taken on an extra four credits to help temporarily fill the vacancy.

Capital University has hired an adjunct from The Ohio State University in order to help fill in the other courses.

Reed hopes Capital will be able to bring in a new professor by next fall.

“We hope to have somebody hired to fill Dr. Kendall-Morwick’s position full-time by March. Hopefully that individual will be ready to start in August of next year. It’s difficult to start searching to fill a full-time position in the middle of an academic year, but that’s the situation we are in.”
