I enjoyed the article about club sports here at Capital. I hope that it is a vision of a time in the not too distant future for all of us.
As a person quoted in your article, I appreciated the accuracy of your rendition of my words.
However, the perception that the club lacrosse team, and club sports in general, are “soaring” is an image I continue to believe is possible but is 180 degrees off from the information I shared with your reporter.
At this time the lacrosse team has suspended all of its activities due in part to a lack of funding and in part to the morale issues created by ongoing administrative challenges.
It is my perception that there are additional student groups interested in forming that have not found a solid foothold in the current campus circumstances.
I would encourage you to revisit this issue.
