For those looking to relax, the ZenCha Tea Salon is a great place to go for a calm environment to get away from the stress of studying. ZenCha is located on Main Street across the street from Capital and students can walk in and enjoy a variety of teas from all over the globe that can be served hot or cold. The ZenCha Tea Salon also has a fairly diverse and delicious menu, and is open on Monday-Friday 11a.m.-9p.m., Saturday 8a.m.-9p.m. and Sunday 8a.m.-6p.m.
Hot Chelle Rae, a pop rock band most well known for their hit single “Tonight, Tonight,” is coming to Columbus Sunday, April 29 and will be opened by Action Item and Electric Touch. They are performing at the Newport Music Hall and the show costs $16 in advance and $18 the day of. Located on High Street in front of The Ohio State Universities campus, the Newport offers the perks of live music and brews at a reasonable price for a night of relaxation and fun.
The Columbus Crew men’s soccer team will be playing against the Vancouver Whitecaps on Saturday, April 28 if students want to support a Columbus team while taking a break from studying. When purchased through Capital University, tickets are only $10 and include a $5 food voucher.
Some events don’t even require leaving Bexley. Friday, April 27 at 2p.m. there will be a Pizza and Paper event where students are encouraged to come, read the newspaper and have a slice of pizza at the Multicultural Affairs Office. The Drexel will be showing The Muppets that night at midnight. This showing will be free for Capital students with a Capital ID. And as usual, there will be Exam Treats starting at 10p.m. Sunday and again at 10p.m. on Monday.
One other way a student can blow off steam this week or celebrate finals being over is by going out to Saloon, Patio, Social, Long Street or Cantina. Free bus transportation is available in front of Schaaf at 10:30p.m. to take students to College Night Wednesdays at Cantina, College Night Thursdays at the conjoined bars Saloon, Social and Patio, or College Night Friday at Long Street. The bus picks students back up around 1:30a.m. and will bring them back to Capitals campus.
