Breaking: Capital requiring vaccinations for campus community

In an email sent out to the Capital community at 11:31 a.m., President Dave Kaufman announced that the University will be requiring all students, faculty, and staff to receive COVID-19 vaccinations before Dec. 17, 2021.

This decision was made by Kaufman and his Cabinet in-response to the rise of delta variant cases across the state of Ohio.

In the email, Kaufman stated, “This is not a decision we took lightly. We considered guidance from Franklin County Public Health, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and our COVID Response Team, as well as the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s final approval of the Pfizer vaccine earlier this week.”

This news comes shortly after OSU and Otterbein announced that they will be requiring vaccines for their campus communities.

For those that can’t receive the vaccine for medical or religous reasons, take a look at these exemption forms below:

More coverage will be released as the situation develops.
