While most students spend their time worrying about homework, exams, jobs, money, and several other daily concerns, they often forgetto take care of their health. In fact, most of the general population is this way. We as a culture are so busy – constantly running around, trying to hold our lives together just waiting for a moment to sit down and relax.

Instead of preventing sickness, it is much easier to wait until we’re sick, get a chemical prescription from the doctor, then get straight back to work the next day. But if everyone would take care of their bodies year-round, there would be much less inconvenient sickness to deal with.

Students should be aware that eating healthful, vitamin-rich foods such as fruits and vegetables while exercising regularly will not only help their bodies look better, but also keep them feeling great during flu season and all year round.

Capital Flu Shot Clinic – Oct. 9-10

If Capital students or staff still need a flu shot before the cold weather arrives, two flu shot clinics will be open on campus this week. Capital nursing students will be giving flu shots from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, in Schneider Lounge on the first floor of the Campus Center. The second clinic will be located in the Mezz, Oct. 10, from noon – 5 p.m.

Although flu shots are $12 each, they will be charged to students’ Capital accounts to be paid off later. Don’t keep putting it off – get your flu shot this week to keep yourself and others on campus from getting sick.
