Theater students take the stage with classic ‘Charlie Brown’ tale

by Aaron Butts

Everyone knows and loves the classic Peanuts comics by Charles Shultz, featuring the loveable, depressive little kid, Charlie Brown, his dog Snoopy, and their gang of friends.

Its spectacular stage adaptation, “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown!” is being performed this weekend in the Cabaret theatre.

Charlie Brown is played by Nathan Bell, junior, while his loyal dog snoopy is played by Kim Mollet, senior.

Antics ensue through numerous heartfelt songs as lovers of the comic strip recall jokes that are shared with both the comic and the musical as the characters explore what it is to be a kid, and what it means to be a “good man.”

The musical itself is a stage classic that was been done numerous times by theatres worldwide. Its memorable songs and characters make this musical a fun, entertaining, comedic, and heartfelt event that viewers of any age could enjoy.

The musical has its first performance Thursday and runs all weekend. Make sure to call ahead to the box office for tickets at (614) 236-7174.

As always, tickets are free for Capital students. For more information on the performance schedule and ticket prices, check out “CU Theatre’s ‘You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown’” Facebook page.
