Tuesday evening, the university sent out an email to the campus community stating that face-to-face classes would be canceled for the remainder of the week.
Classes will pick up online Monday, March 16 and continue virtually until at least Tuesday, March 31.
As of press time, the university itself—including offices, dining facilities, and residence halls—will remain open, but university-sponsored and on-campus events will be canceled. This includes student organization events.
Indoor sporting events will be held without anyone except the athletes, parents, and other people needed for the game, and athletic events will be streamed.
University-related non-essential domestic travel will be halted until at least March 31, and all university-related international travel will be halted until June 30.
“The University’s emergency response team continues to evaluate risk and develop contingency plans, working directly with the Franklin County Public Health Department and following the guidelines of the CDC and local, state, and federal authorities,” the email, courtesy of Denise Russell, said.
