Due to privacy restrictions enforced by the University, the specific details of the cases could not be disclosed, but Kunkle provided some general information surrounding some of them.

According to Kunkle, the public indecency report involved a student masturbating in a classroom in Battelle Hall. Upon further investigation, no proof was found, and the subject denied that they committed any such action.

Cases of theft, narcotics and alcohol arrests occurred in residence halls and parking lots. A few burglaries took place in the Student Union and in one residential housing unit.

When asked about whether or not crime in 2020 was considered low on campus, Kunkle said, “Yes, I would say due to COVID, not as many students or people [are] out.”

As the year moves forward, Kunkle has some goals and plans that he wants to accomplish to prevent further crimes from happening.

“I am still working on getting more officers hired and we are always asking for students and staff to help us out if they see something to call us,” Kunkle said. “We also are patrolling the area on a normal basis.”
