Poll: House announces impeachment inquiry

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced Tuesday evening that the House will be launching a formal impeachment inquiry against President Donald Trump.

This announcement comes after allegations surfaced via a whistleblower report that Trump was asking Ukranian President Volodymyr Zelensky to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden during a July phone call.

“The president must be held accountable,” Pelosi said during Tuesday’s press conference. “ No one is above the law.”

In a Twitter poll conducted by the Chimes, 69 percent of respondents said they support the impeachment inquiry, while 31 percent said they do not.

Wednesday morning, the White House released a transcript of the phone call in response to the allegations.
