Taste of Bexley

The 15th annual Taste of Bexley event will be held from 5:30-8:30 p.m. on Oct. 19, 2023 in the Capital Center. Over 30 local restaurants and shops will be on the university’s campus serving a variety of food and drink options.

Some of the businesses at Taste of Bexley will be familiar favorites for students, such as Newfangled Kitchen and Rusty Bucket, while others may be a new discovery.

Taste of Bexley is hosted each year by the Bexley Area Chamber of Commerce with the goal of giving local businesses and restaurants the opportunity to showcase their talents  to a wider audience.

“It gets people to understand there’s a great option from there. Or, here’s someplace that maybe you didn’t really think about or know about and you get a chance to try that,” Executive Director of the Chamber Bryan Drewry said.

There’s something for everyone at Taste of Bexley. The Top Steak House, KHAAB, The Mad Greek, Kiku Sushi Bar and TAT Ristorante di Famiglia are just a few examples of the many different types of restaurants serving their cuisine on campus.

“The special thing about this is they’ll have some stuff that’s not on the menu,” Drewry said. “Brad Rocco from Bexley Pizza Plus does specialty pizzas there, which he never does anywhere except for this event and when he goes and does pizza shows. He’s won a couple of national awards for the specialty pizzas.”

Entreés won’t be the only type of delicious fare at this event.

Bakeries and other businesses will have sweet treats for patrons to enjoy. A large assortment of desserts will be available, ranging from cupcakes to cheesecakes and everything in between.

Chocolate-covered strawberries dipped by Berried N Business will be another great confection to enjoy at Taste of Bexley this year.

For those who are over 21-years-old, a handful of brewing companies will be in attendance as well as vendors selling alcoholic mixed drinks, hard cider and wine.

Hosting the event on campus will give students who cannot travel off-campus the opportunity to attend and sample local foods, as well as the chance to network and connect with the Bexley community.

Students that present a Capital ID can attend Taste of Bexley for $15, which is half the cost of general admission. Students can also choose to volunteer at the 2023 Taste Of Bexley for 90 minutes to attend the rest of the event for free and get volunteer hours.
Tickets can be purchased ahead of time HERE or by visiting the Bexley Area Chamber of Commerce Instagram @bexleychamber.
