There have been many terrible things throughout history: used car salesmen, your iPhone running out of storage, Wendy’s running out of spicy chicken nuggets.
However, car manufacturers have produced some of the worst things. The only problem with that is that most people don’t know about cars.
Worry not, your resident car nerd reporter is here to help you navigate the minefield that is the used car market.
First offender is the Pontiac Aztec. This monstrously massive dump was dropped by General Motors in the early 2000s. If that’s not reason enough to pass this up then I don’t know what is.
The Volkswagen Beetle is another potential candidate. It is thought of as cool, retro, and a fun alternative to boring econoboxes. I would like to point out that the people that say that have not driven one.
Of course you could drive the grim reaper’s personal whip, the Ford Pinto. In addition to being downright nauseating to look at and drive, the Ford Pinto had a feature that would make the interior quite hot…and orange. Due to placement of the fuel tank the entire car would burst into flames if you were rear ended hard enough.
The Lexus LC 430 was, shall we say, less than expected. It was supposed to be designed to look like a billion dollar yacht from Monte Carlo. Of course, the LC 430 was supposed to be a lot of things. In reality it was slow, ugly, expensive, uncomfortable, and an utter let down. This would have to be, without a doubt, the worst car in history.
