Officials have confirmed the university’s first positive COVID-19 test in a recent email to the community.
The individual is a commuter student to the Bexley campus and self-reported the test results to university officials according to the email, which went out to students on Tuesday afternoon around 3 p.m.
According to the email, the student is experiencing only minor symptoms and is “taking appropriate care measures.” Due to privacy around health care, the university will not identify members of the university who are diagnosed with COVID-19.
“At this time, it does not seem that any Capital community members had recent close contact with the individual in question,” Denise Russel, director of publications and marketing for the university, stated in an email.
The email also stated that the university will not announce each individual positive test, but will make the community aware of overall numbers of positive cases.
